Checkout Experience – Travel

Checkout Experience – Travel

In 2014 I joined Expedia.com as a User Experience Lead on the Checkout team. My focus was split between individual projects and assisting the Principle UX Designer in managing work on several sub-features of the Checkout space. Shown here are some samples from my time at Expedia.

To shorten the experience for customers when purchasing a car rental, especially if they're recognized Expedia shoppers, I helped create the Fast Purchase workflow shown here.

I worked with interaction designers, also on our team, on each of these pieces. As the lead I was also responsible for providing project components like prototypes (HTML / Javascript), wireframes, and some creative content. Additionally each of these features were tested in our on-site usability lab over the course of several iterations.

As part of the checkout team I helped design an opportunity to help customers build out their trips. After purchasing a flight, for example, we would showcase some optional travel needs to help build a complete trip.
